Bucaramanga is a city located in Colombia, specifically in the northeastern part of the country. It serves as the capital of the Santander department, which is one of Colombia’s 32 departments. Bucaramanga is situated in the Andean region of Colombia, nestled within the eastern foothills of the Andes Mountains. It is located in the Magdalena River Valley, which is known for its rugged terrain and lush green landscapes. Bucaramanga is situated at approximately 7.11392° N latitude and -73.1198° W longitude. The city sits at an elevation of approximately 950 meters (3,117 feet) above sea level. It covers an area of 15,400 hectares, 154.00 km² (59.46 sq mi), and the Monsoon (Köppen climate classification: Am) climate.
Bucaramanga enjoys a mild and pleasant climate due to its elevation. It has a tropical wet and dry climate, characterized by warm to hot temperatures throughout the year. There are two distinct seasons: a dry season from December to February and a wet season from April to November. Bucaramanga is known for its scenic beauty, with lush green hills and mountains surrounding the city. It is often referred to as the “City of Parks” due to its numerous green spaces and well-maintained parks. The city is also recognized for its cultural and educational institutions.
